A Perfect Day in San Juan: Our Stop on MSC Seascape

Our recent cruise on MSC Seascape brought us to the beautiful port of San Juan, Puerto Rico—and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! One of the biggest perks of the day? We were the only cruise ship at port, making it feel like we had the city all to ourselves.

The moment we stepped off the ship, we immediately noticed how convenient the location was. Right near the port, there’s a Walgreens, perfect for any last-minute essentials travelers might have forgotten. Whether you need sunscreen, extra snacks, or a quick pharmacy run, this is a lifesaver for cruise passengers!

Exploring Local Shops & Restaurants

San Juan is rich in culture, history, and charm. As we walked through the cobblestone streets, we enjoyed browsing the local shops filled with handmade crafts, souvenirs, and unique gifts. There were also plenty of restaurants and cafes, offering everything from fresh seafood to delicious Puerto Rican coffee. If you’re looking for an authentic meal, San Juan won’t disappoint!

While San Juan offers guided walking tours, we opted to explore on our own. The city is incredibly walkable, and we loved wandering through the colorful streets, soaking in the historic architecture, and discovering hidden gems along the way. One of our favorite stops? A local bookstore tucked away in a quiet corner of the city.

Creating a Special Keepsake

To make this trip even more memorable, we picked out a book from the bookstore as a souvenir. It’s a tradition we love—choosing a book to remind us of our travels. To make it extra special, mom and dad signed it, marking the date and destination so we can look back on this adventure for years to come.

Traveling with young kids means balancing adventure with nap schedules, and San Juan was the perfect stop for a family managing two naps in one day. The city’s close proximity to the port made it easy to explore while still sticking to our routine, and we loved how relaxed yet fulfilling the day felt.
